How to play
1. Listen to the sound file then type each word into the text
box in the top right corner. Don't try to type into the main text
window.
2. Press the Search text button below to
insert the text.

- You can press the Cheat button to insert
the word where you have placed the cursor, or press the Hint
button to insert only a letter.
- Start with words which have a structural
function - words like the common articles,
prepositions, or conjunctions
- these will show the structure of
the text. Then insert the lexical content words
as you listen.
- With contracted forms (eg aren't,
would've) you need type only
the part to the left of the apostrophe (aren
or
would) or you can type them in
full and they are treated as distinct words.
- Numbers are NOT included in the words, but if a number is combined with a
letter (eg 15th, 1930s)
you will need to type in the letters as if they are words (th
or s).
- You score 1 point for each letter you enter correctly, and lose a penalty
point for each letter you get from using the Cheat
or Hint functions.
