Diagnostic Tests and Personalised Learning Pathways
The VLC Diagnostic Test provides a way to start learning with your own customized learning programme (Learning Pathways) as well as a way to test your knowledge of English and to know better your strengths and weaknesses. The test is closely modelled on the Oxford Placement Test (OPT) in terms of level and the structures tested. Diagnostic Grammar Test Parts A and B This test consists of 100 multiple choice questions on grammar, in two parts, and follows the format of the OPT. After you have completed each part of the test, you will get a feedback report on how you did, with a detailed explanation of where you made mistakes. You can then use this information to generate your own "learning pathway", which will provide a learning programme based on the mistakes you have made. You can then print and save this to use as you wish. You should spend about 30 minutes on each part of the test. Diagnostic Listening Test This test consists of 100 dual choice questions, all of which contrast two similar sounds which convey alternative but grammatically correct and possible meanings. The test combines reading with listening as the correct choice can only be made by listening, not by interpreting the semantic probability of the test since both choices are semantically possible. The test takes about 12 minutes. |
