English / Chinese translation is provided in a number of ways in VLC
documents and exercises.

Many VLC texts are "Active
Dictionary " pages and use the "point-&-click
dictionary" function that dynamically
links any word in the text to the Net Dictionary dictionary, which provides
some Chinese translations as well as explanations and examples in English. Many
words are also individually linked to the dictionary. The example below shows a
word linked from a vocabulary exercise.

The VLC also provides a useful approach for studying translation via
the Parallel
Text Viewer together with the Parallel
Concordancer. The viewer features texts in parallel English and Chinese
versions with bookmarks for sentence by sentence translation, as the following
illustration shows.
