These include the multimedia Guide to English Pronunciation, a variety of listening materials using RealAudio streaming, MP3 and Wave sound files, and of course the Text-to-Speech narrator.  We also provide customized software which can be used to record and listen to yourself.

1. Guide to English Pronunciation

This course features video and sound files to demonstrate pronunciation, as well as explaining the IPA phonetic symbols for representing the sounds of English.  A typical page provides an explanation of how the sound is made, a video demonstrating the mouth shape, diagrams and spelling examples with sound files.

The Guide to English Pronunciation also features a number of practice exercises as well as providing explanatory notes and examples.

2. Texts with sound

Many VLC materials feature text accompanied with sound files to provide a pronunciation guide for the text.  These include all the texts in the Listen and Learn section as well as all the conversations in the English Conversation section.
