The VLC Pronunciation Guide

The Pronunciation Guide has customized menus and toolbars for linking to the VLC English Pronunciation Guide. The program is available in two versions:

• Download Pronunciation Guide WinZip file for running all files from your PC (6.8 megabytes)
• Download Pronunciation Guide WinZip file for accessing all files directly from the VLC website (2.3 megabytes)
• Zip files require the WinZip32 utility to extract the files. Choose "Save File to Disk".and "Install"

The Pronunciation Guide also provides recording and playback functions for the student, as well as integrating the Net Dictionary lookup feature as in the TTS Browser and other VLC programs.

Why use the desktop version?

The advantage of using this program is that it runs the VLC English Pronunciation Guide directly from your desktop without any internet connection. The program can then be easily used at any time either for study or reference purposes.

When you install this version of the Pronunciation Guide it will:

• 1. Copy all the files onto your hard disk so you can run the program and follow the course without internet connection (you'll need to have the Windows Media Player 9++ installed on your PC for this)
• 2. When used with internet connection it connects to the edict web server for Net Dictionary searches

If you just want to study using the internet then use the other version which connects to the VLC website. In all other aspects this has the same functionality, and provides record and dictionary lookup the same.
