Using ConcApp with Open Files 


There are two ways to run the concordancer - using files which have first been opened, or by using text files which have been placed in the same directory. Both ways allow both single and multiple file searches. 

1. Running the concordancer on open files

ConcApp is a multiple document program, and all files which have been opened will be searched. To start the search select "Search" from the Concordance Menu or use the toolbar button as shown below:

 

When you run a search, use the Set Search Preferences dialog box to specify whether your corpus is in ANSI code or UNICODE, as shown below:  

Next the Concordance Selection dialog box appears:

Type in the word to search for and leave the default settings to do a simple search using the open text file. Click "OK" to start the search  and the concordances appear listed in a new window:

In the above illustration the windows have been tiled for easy viewing. Right click the mouse on any line in the concordance window to see the word in context in the text file which is displayed in the top window.
